Mavis Sparkle (For ages 4+)

Edinburgh Fringe 2017

Wednesday 2 - Sunday 20 August 11am, Pleasance Courtyard (Venue 33)

Written and Directed by Gilly Baskeyfield and Dot Wood

We're excited to be taking Mavis Sparkle to Edinburgh this year as part of our 40th birthday celebrations!

With a magician for a Dad and a stargazer for a Mum, no wonder there’s more to Mavis than meets the eye!

A feather duster in one hand and a few tricks up her sleeve, Mavis is on a journey north to see nature’s biggest light show with her own eyes.  With a little help from her cheeky cuckoo clock, mischievous mop bucket, Spike the hedgehog and a nice cup of tea, Mavis moves ever closer to making her dream come true.

M6’s cosmic production mixes illusion, animation and laughter, inspiring us all to dust away doubts, follow our dreams and reach for the stars!

For ages 4+ and families

  • I took my 6 yr old son to see Mavis yesterday at TBTL, What a fantastic performance, heart warning, funny, engaging. Mavis you were a true delight. The best piece of childrens theatre I think I have ever seen. You bought magic & sparkle to the children & adults alike. Looking forward to seeing future productions. Last night my little boy looked at the stars & asked if Mavis had made it to her light house yet. Thank you.

  • My family had a super time at this show. Excellently done. Imaginative, engaging and had my sons on the edge of their chair. We all felt like we knew Mavis. She has a very calming presence.when ever we see the north star or if we are lucky the northern lights we will always think of Mavis and this fabulous theatre show

  • Wonderful show. My son saw One little Word as his first theatre visit. It had him hooked. We have been many times since. He loved Mavis Sparkle just as much. Thank you!

  • After seeing one little word we have kept an eye on when you are doing another performance. We saw Mavis Sparkle today and were amazed and enthralled as always. Our 5 year old lives every part of the story and we'll talk about it for weeks and months. Thankyou.

  • Outstanding production that had both my 4 year old boy and myself mesmerised. Eve Robertson as Mavis was amazing. She really captured the innocence in us all, to always have hope. Beautiful production at The Polka in Wimbledon. Well done M6.

  • Everyone knows or needs to know a Mavis Sparkle. It made me realise that life is not a rehearsal and we have to make the most of every day and hold onto our dreams and wishes.

  • Great show today in Pontypridd, both Grandparents and Grandson loved the way you fired the imagination.
Well worth driving through the snow over the mountain to get there!

  • If you can keep a 7 year old boy entertained for 45 minutes without wriggling about - you're a STAR in my eyes!
